These are my attributes
In 1912, a very special Teddy bear became a silent symbol of mourning and compassion. On the 14 April 1912 the passenger liner “Titanic” was speeding towards New York on her maiden transatlantic voyage when she struck a gigantic iceberg, and in less than three hours the liner had sunk. Over 1,500 people died and England plunged into mourning. Steiff paid its respects by honouring England with specially produced black “mourning” bears. Less than 500 of these “mourning” bears were produced exclusively for England in the year of sadness. Clearly touching a chord, they sold out quickly. Today they are some of the most sought after bears in the world. This is a fine replica of one of these exceptionally rare Teddy bears who was offered for sale at the Steiff Sommer 2023 and sold for a New World Record – 180,000 € hammer. He is the World’s most expensive Teddy bear.
